going for a run
so I finally made it for a run today when going to Hagerman. i started out with the plan to run from the house to brenda henslee's drive way which is a little over two miles from the house so my run would have been a little over 4 miles. What I really ran was from the house to highway 30 and back a little ways. I ran into mom here and she gave me a ride home where I used the restroom then went out again. This time I ran to the stop sign, down around the powerplant and back to the stop sign then home. The first half of the run I went of I walked alot more then the second half of the run. now i definately need to do some stretching because I can feel my legs tightening up. Until tomorrow when I do water aerobics and swimming. I also want to try and get another run in.
amazing workout
I had an amazing workout yesterday in my swimming class. We are in the time of class where we make our own horouts to turn in. Usually we don't get to do those workouts because glen has workouts for us but yesterday was a make-up day so I got to do the workout that I made. So here was the workout...
200m warmup
10x25m sprints w/ 10 sec break
5x50m drill sets
300m kickboard set
200 cooldown
I did the entire workout and then some...the very end of the kickboard sets and part of the cool down with the flippers. Then I still felt ok so I just kept swimming with the fins. I don't know how many laps I did but it was at least 10 more laps. Then I finished by swimming a 100m backstroke. I was very tired and very hungry after the workout but it was totally worth it. Until next time...

finally I get outside
I feel like I have been stuck inside for days. For the most part it has been beautiful these last few weeks. I feel like I have been cooped up in the house for days. Sometimes I feel like I am on babysitting duty staying with grandma now. All my nieces and nephews behave better then grandma with not doing things they aren't supposed to do. So I have feeling extremely cooped up so today I was finally able to go running. this afternoon she was sitting down and watching a movie so I went for a run. I went from the house down dorm drive to the road that goes to stadium. From there I went down to Hankins road, down Falls and back down college to finish out my run. It was so pretty there was a slight breeze and it was a little chilly but not enough to need a jacket. If felt fabulous to be out there again. I figure I will keep that route and then add onto it from there. I don't know how far of a distance it was but I hope it was about 2 miles. Tomorrow I will have to drive the route and clock the distance to know how far the start point is. Until later.

love progress
This week I got to ride again. I rode squire, it was only for about 20 minutes or so but it was so nice to be able to ride despite the arctic wind that was blowing on me. Next time I could do without the wind but it was so nice to be able to ride my own horse agin I will have to do it again soon.
This week in swimming was tough once again. I feel like a broken record but my teacher is giving us some really tough workouts this semester. Starting on tuesday we are doing our own workouts so I will have to make sure that I continue to do that. So tuesday's workout consisted of the following 250m warm-up, 3x100 beginning slow and getting faster, 1x300, 5x50 drill sets, 10x25 kickboard sets, 250 cool down. This is the first workout this semester that I didn't finish. I ate too much to soon before class and had no energy. I felt very sluggish and was struggling to stay afloat at least that is how it felt. I was dragging through the water which I actually was. I told Glenn that I thought my technique was gone and he said that my technique was still their but my legs were dragging through the water which I can tell because my arms were still sore today when I started my workout.
Todays workout seemed a little easier then other days but it was tough. As far as the directions it was the easiest one to remember so far. Simply put swim nonstop for 30 minutes. I did this fairly easy as far as my breathing. However, my arms were definately feeling it towards the middle and the end of the workout. To give my arms a little break the last few minutes I used the kickboard. Now I just need to decide what I am going to do for my workout on tuesday. If you have any suggestions let me know. We are in the endurance section of the workout. Until next time.

Getting Moving
This week in swimming was killer. We had a really tough workout on tuesday and yesterday we had a two minute warm-up and then 4 sets of swimming 5 minutes straight. Starting out is a nice and slow pace and each minute increasing speed and intensity. It was really tough for me because I was trying to do the front crawl longer then I usually do and alsoI was tired and it felt like I was dragging through the water. I am still a little sore today and will probably be even more sore tomorrow because I went to the school and worked out today. I ran a mile then did 5 hard minutes on the bicycle then went down and lifted weights. Overall I worked out for over an hour today. tomorrow i am going to try and ride horses and go running so I can get a good workout tomorrow too.

tough workout
Today in swimming my teacher gave us a tough workout. It seems simple enough 3x200 with a 10 second break inbetween the 200's. The specifics were do the first 200 at a good speed, the next 200 as fast as you could then the last 200 starting out fast then slowing down. I was so tired by the end of the last 200. I thought that I would be left behind by the other girls in my group because they are faster swimmers but I am the only one who actually finished the workout because they had to keep stopping to rest. That made me feel good that I was able to do it because I have been staying later almost everyday after class to keep swimming and getting better. I can't wait until tuesday to see what kind of workout Glenn has for us. We are in the endurance stage of class so it will be interesting.
