accountability

I've been thinking about being accountable a lot lately. Accountable for my kids, for the house and for myself. But not just what I'm accoutable for but to whom I'm accountable for these things. I can be accountable to Ken, the kids, myself, really anyone I want but the main person is my Savior. You're probably wondering what this has to do with the running, biking and swimming blog and this is why it does because I'm accountable for how I care for my body. So this week my goal is to track what I eat and my exercising by posting it here snd also by discussing with my Savior the choices I'm making for the body he gave me to get me through this life.
My first choise is to give up diet coke at least for the next two weeks. During this past conference there were a couple talks that talked about addictions. I jokingly said that I was okay because they didn't mention caffine and also that I'm fine without the cafiine in my diet coke. The problem is that it is the diet coke itself that has become the addiction. So farewell diet coke you are about to be replaced by a lot of water.

how wimpy am I

I just finished a workout video that makes me think that my work at the gym has gotten way too easy. A friend said how she was doing this workout by Jillian Michaels and how she was really noticing the difference in herself. I thought what the heck I'll look into it. I went to target and it was on $9.00 so I bought it thinking if it wasn't that great I wouldn't be out much. Let me jsut say if I can make it through the first 20 minute workout without feeling l like I'm dying it will have paid for its self. It is also time to push myself a little harder on gym days.

Try, Try, Try again

I keep starting exercising and doing good for a while and then stop the progress of creating a habit. SO I am trying to start and develop the habit to create lifetime change. So last night I went and worked out at the Y I started out doing Jacob's ladder. That thing is killer. My goal is to get up to 5 minutes on that thing. Then I ran for about 40 minutes on the treadmill. Followed by a spinning class. My legs were dead by the end of the workout I was barely able to finish the spinning class. I am going to have to do that workout again but in a different order start with the spinning class then running and Jacob's ladder last. I am also going to start swimming again because I am getting pudgy again and the best way I have found to get rid of it.

I am back at it :)

I have been working out everyday, either walking, running and doing slim in 6. I have also been working out in my yard a lot and I feel wonderful. It feels so nice to be working out again. I have been a little sore but not as bad as I would have guessed. Lets keep up the work outs and good job ladies!!

running and jumping and walking in place

Is anyone still doing this? I went running today about 3 miles. It felt like I was going fast and I was working hard but I really wasn't moving fast but I was really working hard. Dixie came too and I had to keep pulling her along. I guess she's out of shape too. Swimming is coming but my technique isn't as good as I want it to be. I'm going running tomorrow and either swimming or biking the 8 miles to prepare for the sprint triathlon I'm doing this weekend with Heather and Meri and anyone else that wants to come.

going for a run

so I finally made it for a run today when going to Hagerman. i started out with the plan to run from the house to brenda henslee's drive way which is a little over two miles from the house so my run would have been a little over 4 miles. What I really ran was from the house to highway 30 and back a little ways. I ran into mom here and she gave me a ride home where I used the restroom then went out again. This time I ran to the stop sign, down around the powerplant and back to the stop sign then home. The first half of the run I went of I walked alot more then the second half of the run. now i definately need to do some stretching because I can feel my legs tightening up. Until tomorrow when I do water aerobics and swimming. I also want to try and get another run in.

amazing workout

I had an amazing workout yesterday in my swimming class. We are in the time of class where we make our own horouts to turn in. Usually we don't get to do those workouts because glen has workouts for us but yesterday was a make-up day so I got to do the workout that I made. So here was the workout...
200m warmup
10x25m sprints w/ 10 sec break
5x50m drill sets
300m kickboard set
200 cooldown
I did the entire workout and then some...the very end of the kickboard sets and part of the cool down with the flippers. Then I still felt ok so I just kept swimming with the fins. I don't know how many laps I did but it was at least 10 more laps. Then I finished by swimming a 100m backstroke. I was very tired and very hungry after the workout but it was totally worth it.
